Dr Roderick Bailey is a best-selling author and professional historian attached to the University of Oxford’s History Faculty.

His current research examines themes in the histories of blood transfusion, epidemic disease, biological warfare and human enhancement.

He also works and writes on the history of cultural heritage protection and is an acknowledged expert on wartime resistance and the global role of the Special Operations Executive (SOE).

Away from academia, Roderick served with the British Army in Afghanistan and has worked extensively as an international election monitor for the European Union and OSCE.
